So what is that big challenge or opportunity you want to create? It's often harder to define once you try to write it down. We will home in on one shift that you want to create. It could be a question like, "How do I get a promotion?" a situation like, "I want to convince my team to try my ideas" or a dynamic such as "I want to be in charge, how do I make that happen?"
Great leaders maintain integrity by knowing what standards and values they live by. They share these standards with those around them, and they are able to take a no-nonsense approach when real-life situations challenge those standards.
Another mark of an innovation leader is creating enough time and space for great things to happen. By taking a break, we practice interrupting the hustle of constantly "doing" and acquiring new information. This time is designed for you to catch-up if needed and allow the skills and information we've already learned to gain momentum. With consistent application and observation, you will see the impacts evolve over time. By definition, a leader's role is to create resilience, in other words, to navigate through set-backs and resistance. We face this constantly, whether it the resistance come from within ourselves or from others. The trick is to recognize the fear of change as a natural and inevitable human reaction, and to become a master at moving through it again and again.
